Col 1:27 Christ in you the hope of Glory

Father I thank you that as Mike seeks you for direction this week for the ministry that he has the mind of Christ.  I thank you that you are not a god afar off but actually present and your presence is in him Jesus. Reveal the wisdom of heaven thru your Holy Spirit so he can discern and know what to do in every circumstance. Thank you for guiding his path and protecting him as he goes. Please help Us as we intercede on his behalf to pray in alignment with your will.  Amen.

Monday AM Prayer Focus: Ministry In and From the Valley

November 28, 2010 10:06 by DanJ

We thank you Lord for Your wonderful ways.  We thank You that You would count us, the greater church of the valley, worthy to share the gospel here in this valley and throughout the country and the world.  We lift up the many pastors and elders and deacons and workers of the various church bodies of the valley who are sharing, teaching and living Your gospel, the word of truth.  We lift up the 1000s of missionaries that over time have been sent to various areas of the country and the world from our state of Oregon.  Please dear Lord, let their efforts bear great fruit throughout the world for decades ahead.  And let the work that was done decades before echo on into the future. Thank you for men and women dedicated to You and unselfishly doing the work of the gospel.  Grant them success, joy, peace as they continue on in their life from one work to the next.  Amen.

Saturday AM Focus: Unity

November 26, 2010 10:58 by Ivy

Lord we are asking that you make the Bride in the Mid-Willamette valley one. Just as two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one because they get a better return for their labor; help us to work together as one church.  Or, If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble. Make your Bride one; may we be lifting each other up together. And, on a cold night, two under the same blanket can gain warmth from each other. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. Braid us together in you, make us one, and may our strength be in our unity. Amen!

Prayer Focus Friday AM: Gifts to One Another

November 25, 2010 11:16 by DanJ

The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.  1 Peter 4:7-8

Dear Lord teach us your church here in the Willamette Valley to offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  Help us to look upon each other in a loving way even when things are not as we would ideally want them to be.  Above all teach us to put love before our own wishes.  You did in Your life.  You gave Your life for us Lord.  Teach us to give each other a small part of our lives for the sake of the truth of the gospel.  Help us to be gifts to one another, serving each other in the things that you have taught us to do.  Help us to use our gifts as a good servant would do his chores, thoughtfully and thoroughly for the sake of Your kingdom.

Friday Prayer for Israel - 8:30 AM A Spirit of grace and supplication

November 25, 2010 9:02 by Roger

Zech.12:9-10   "And it will come about in that day that I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.  And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced, and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him, like the bitter weeping over a first-born."

Forever, O LORD, is Your Word a settled matter in the heavenlies!  Surely, You will fulfill Your Word in "that day".   But do we have to wait until then for Your people Israel to turn their eyes upon Him whom they have pierced?  Open the eyes of their hearts to see the beauty of the LORD, Who was "Pierced through for our transgressions", and ... "crushed for our iniquities".   Let hearts all through the beautiful land grieve and mourn for "the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth".  Then, Father, I ask (Jn.14:13) that their mourning be turned into Joy in believing that He died for them, and rose again victorious, and evermore lives to make intercession for them.  Let all of Israel be saved by accepting Jesus as Messiah, the Holy One of Israel.

Thursday AM Focus: A Better Covenant

November 25, 2010 8:58 by Roger

It is good to give thanks unto You Lord!   You have "obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as You are also the Mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises."  Heb.8.6  The old covenant, a contract between God and men was broken because men could not keep their side of the deal.  But the new covenant, a contract between God the Father and God the Son does not depend upon mankind's performance.  There is nothing we can do to break the covenant because the terms of it are fully fulfilled by Christ our Savior. The covenant, or "will" (as in 'last will and testament') is in effect because there has been a death.  The old covenant made us "servants" obligated to a Master.  The new covenant makes us "sons" and "kings and priests" in a love relationship to God our Father.  Romans 8:15-17a, "For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Adda! Father!"  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow-heirs with Christ..."   Halleujah!   The better covenant has provided us with an inheritance, "which is imperishable and undefiled, and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for us who are preserved by the power of God through faith..."  1 Peter 1:4-5.   Thank you Lord!

Wednesday AM Prayer Focus: Be Thankful and Pray Continually

November 23, 2010 11:20 by Peter

1 Thessalonians 1:2 We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.

Father, as we turn our focus to giving thanks this week, please help us grow in this area so that it becomes our lifestyle. We long to be those who will easily and naturally notice what we can be thankful for, not just those things that need fixed. Help us to speak encouraging things to one another (Heb. 10:25) out of hearts that truly see and rejoice in the good which You have brought forth in our lives. Help us remember how grateful we are in our times of need as we are lifted up in prayer, so that it will remind us to continually pray for others. Especially help us to pray for those of our family, friends, and neighbors who don't yet know you. Thank you Jesus!
