Tuesday AM Prayer Focus - It's Going to be Okay

May 24, 2011 7:40 AM by Gene

Psalm 20

7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.

Father, we declare that whatever our situation, even for those devastated by the tornado in Joplin, MO, on Sunday, that You are in control. We hold up those impacted by tornados in our country in recent weeks that they would trust in Your name. Lord, please help us as a nation, whether our personal circumstances are good or hard, that we would trust in Your name.

Needed: More Pray-ers and PRAISES

May 22, 2011 10:27 PM by KarenE

"I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none."   Ezekiel 22:30

Allow God to lead you to pray for others in the church and their needs, national and local situations, the government, the advance of the Kingdom of God, and the growth of the Church.  God is looking for people who will stand in the gap with Him in intercession for situations that are beyond their own interests.

Praise will rout the devil so we pray on and we praise on.  GOD YOU ARE GOOD.  We know we are a nation gone astray but as our Shepherd we acknowledge our need for you to forgive us and cleanse us from all sin.  Holy Spirit lead us as we pray knowing you know better than us what is needed in our valley and in our nation.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, You are the Peace that surpasses understanding. You are the giver of life and breath, You are Beautiful. You fill our cup to overflowing when our focus is heavenward. Thank you for being the lover of our soul. Jesus,You are the Saviour of the whole World, Redeemer, and Deliver from death and hell. Blessed be, and is Your Name forever and ever and ever. Thank you for the cross, the example you have displayed of selfless sacrafice. It is a powerful reminder of your love shown. Help us, your Bride, to demonstrae that same love to each other, and the lost, selfless sacrafice. Remind us during our suffering and the pain, that your ways are worthy of it and eternal. Amen.

We look to you who knows every moment where we are; who knows what we are going to say before we say it. Praise to you who both precedes and follows us! Place your hand of blessing upon your Bride in this vally as well as MSI. Guide us with your hand and your strength to support us.

You have made all the inner parts of our body and knit us togehter in our mother's womb; thank you for making us so wonderfully complex! Since you have woven us together
in the dark of the womb please grant us health in our bodies as well as our minds.

How precious are your thoughts about us, they are innumerable! Arise and destroy the wicked schemes placed around our families and ministries; protect us from falling away from you! Fill us with unending desire to seek you, to seek you with all of our heart, so that we may find you!

We love you! Amen!

Friday Prayer for Israel - 8:30 AM - Benjamin Netanyahu

May 19, 2011 10:47 PM by Roger

After Absalom's revolt against his father, the Kingdom was restored to King David.  Unsettled, unsure relationships and confusion finally come to a stability within David's government.  2 Samuel 20:23-26 reports the outcome of all this shakedown.  Joab is still over the whole army. Benajah was over the Cherethites and Pelethites, Adoram was over the forced labor, Jehoshaphat was the recorder, Sheva was scribe, Zadok and Abiathar were priests, AND then it says that "Ira the Jairite was also a priest - to David".

David had his own personal priest.   I wish I could have known him.  (What do you suppose Ira's life was like?)

Benjamin Netanyahu needs his own personal priest.   In today's world of confusion, threat, political intrigue, and unstability,  Israel's Prime Minister needs to clearly hear God's voice.  Would you pray for him?   U.S. President Obama has taken a bad position making demands upon Israel to give up land and return to 1967 boundaries.   There is much tension, fussing, reactions, speculations, assumptions.  Everyone in Israel and around the world has something to say about it.   Israel's Prime Minister needs to hear God's voice and be deaf to all others.

Friday AM Prayer Focus : Away from Worthless Things

May 19, 2011 9:39 PM by DanJ

Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. Psalm 119:37

Dear Lord, help us, Your people, from being distracted by worthless things. So many things get in our way from being close to You. We have obligated ourselves to works that have no meaning. We have sought after treasures for worldly gain. We have lost track of the path that You want us to walk and we've taken the highway that leads to spiritual death. Forgive us for our focus on trinkets and gizmos, gold and silver, mammon and dross. Help us Your church to discern between the things we need and the things we want or the things we've been coaxed into wanting. Keep us alert and aware and safe from such things that would lead us away from You. Amen.

Thursday AM Focus - He is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.

May 18, 2011 9:50 PM by Roger

Many of us are meeting at the fair grounds this week to earnestly seek the Lord on behalf of our city.  It's a good thing to do.  God cares very much about our city.

But God has not forsaken our nation, or our state, or our city, or our family because of sin.   Natural men are acting out of their human natures.  Their behaviors are predictable.  (That's why we need a Savior).  And they will not change until they personally come to Jesus in repentance.

And God has not forsaken our churches, even though its possible for us to run off on our own, doing our own thing.  It's a good thing for us to seek the Lord together.  But understand that He is seeking us far more intently.  He stands at the door of the church and knocks.  He longs to enter, to "stand in the midst" Rev.1:13, to be the center of all we are and do.  All He requires of us is to "open the door" and let Him in.  Remember when St. Peter was imprisioned and sceduled to be executed?  The Church was fervently praying for his deliverance.  You know the story.  The angel came and supernaturally brought Peter out.  Peter came to Mary's house and stood outside knocking.  We smile at the servant girl leaving him outside, but then we follow her in and hear the unbelief of those praying.  Maybe they thought to themselves, "Don't you know not to bother us, we are praying for Peter to be saved!"  All the while, he stands outside knocking to come in.

I long for a Holy Ghost awakening of the Church, just like most of us.  But let's not beg Him to come to us, whilst He stands outside knocking at the door of the church.   Beloved, Christ is not far from us!  He is in our mouths and in our hearts.  Open wide to Him.   Confess that He is Savior and Lord, Head of the Church, standing in our midst.  Believe that He IS here.  He said He would never leave us orphans!

"Father, we throw open the ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in!"  We welcome you Lord Jesus, we delight ourselves in You.  Awaken Your beloved Bride to behold Your beauty.  Awaken Your Church to 'go into all (our city) proclaiming that the Kingdom of God is at hand.'  For the King of Glory is in Albany."

Romans 4:20-21 (KJV)

 20He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

Prayers for our Nation

May 15, 2011 10:38 PM by KarenE

Turn our hearts to You this day as we pray for our nation.  In You do we put our trust.

"Let your heart therefore be loyal to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day."   l Kings 8:6
