Monday AM Prayer Focus: The Armor of God

July 29, 2012 6:39 PM by Diane

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:14-17

Dear God, Thank you that you provide protection for us as we walk through our lives. Help us to always remember to use the armor that You have given us. Let us stand strong in Your truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and word. Amen.

Friday AM Prayer Topic: Faithful Son

July 26, 2012 10:30 PM by DanJ

Now Moses was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later; but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house-whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end.  Hebrews 3:5-6

Dear Lord, teach us to be faithful sons and daughters.  Help us to hold fast to YOU our confidence and hope!  We pray for the faithfulness of believers in the valley.  When faced with temptations, we prayer You will provide a way out.  Keep us from evil dear Lord.  Let us work for the purposes that You demonstrated.  Help us to be sharing the truths of Your gospel through our actions and our character. Help us to be kind and thoughtful in all we do.  Amen.

Thursday AM Focus - Set Captives Free Luke 4:18-19

July 25, 2012 9:54 PM by Roger

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He annointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.  He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are downtroddened, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord."

Jesus said that those of us who believed in Him would do the works that He did, and greater things.

Wednesday 6:30 AM Prayer Focus: Rejoice

July 25, 2012 8:38 AM by Peter

Psalm 118:24 (NIV)

The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad.

Father, we rejoice in what You have done to bring Your Kingdom to our communities. Thank You for how You have poured out Your Spirit for salvation in Albany and the Valley; thank You for how You have worked mightily in people's lives bringing healing, reconciliation, divine appointments, and many other expressions of Your love for us. Thank You for the unity You have worked in the Body on our valley to be an effective witness for You. We give thanks for the ways You have worked through the citizen initiative to end taxpayer funding of abortion in Oregon over the last 16 months including:

·         Willing obedience to God’s call

·         Friendships and connections that were developed

·         Greater unity in the Body of Christ

·         Oregon citizens educated to know the truth of how our taxes are being used

·         70,000+ Oregonians who signed the petition that they want to end public funding of abortion

·         All the opportunities to give financially and Your provision for the effort

·         All the opportunities to minister in Jesus’ name to people who we talked to!

·         All the hours of prayer honoring You and the praises we offered up!

·         For seeds planted for a foundation of Life in Oregon - it’s the beginning for a new culture of life

·         All the spiritual growth in our individual lives as we worked on this

·         Revival always begins in the hearts of the children of God, and He has caused our hearts to come alive

·         For babies who will live because of this attempt to put the initiative on the ballot

·         That there were no casualties in this battle – we remain standing

·         For all the county leaders that stepped up to coordinate

Ps 119:105 " Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light unto my path"

Thank you Lord for the illuminating power of your presence that shines when we look into your word and seek you. Thank you for putting a massive desire in Mike Silva's heart to read your word thru many times this year and commit portions to memory. Will you loose from heaven all the help he needs to keep that appointment with you. Would you reward him richly for honoring and loving your word. Would you surround him with like minded workers and give them great joy as you unfold revelation upon revelation of the things you have planned for them.

amen

Friday AM Prayer Topic: The Word of Our God

July 19, 2012 10:08 PM by DanJ

    A voice says, “Cry out.”
And I said, “What shall I cry?”

“All people are like grass,
and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field.
The grass withers and the flowers fall,
because the breath of the Lord blows on them.
    Surely the people are grass.
The grass withers and the flowers fall  but the word of our God endures forever. ”

Isaiah 40:6-8

Lord, we are but a moment, but You are forever.  Thank you for adopting us and allowing us to be part of Your kingdom.  Continue to teach us that we will wither like the grass, but Your truth, Your Word will go on forever.  We love You Lord and are so very greatful for being called by You to be Your people.

Thursday AM Prayer Focus - Farm workers and evangelists

July 18, 2012 10:48 PM by Roger

1.  Consider the work done by farm workers,  their situation,  their working conditions,  their economic position, their status.  Whether hispanic or anglo, male or female, old or young  -  pray for their safety,  for joy in their lives,  and mostly, for justice.   "Father, thank you that the crops are coming in.  Thank you that I get to eat good food.  Father, I bless the farm workers with a non-dissappointing hope that life will get easier for them, in Jesus name."

2.  Jesus said we were to lift up our eyes to see the fields "white unto harvest".   If our ripe crop were left to die on the vine - we would feel a terrible injustice had occurred.  How much more the Lord of the harvest Who loved the world so much to give His only begotten Son to reconcile all men unto Himself.   How can I criticize the church for not proclaiming God's love to a lost world, if I am not doing it myself.    "Father, this is not about all of "them" in the church.  This is personal and in my face.  I will reach out.  Grant me effectiveness and fruitfulness in Jesus name."

July 18, 2012 7:10 AM by Peter

James 1:2-4  (NIV)

Trials and Temptations

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Father, we declare that the Body of Christ in our communities will persevere by the power of the Holy Spirit in doing all that You have ordained for us to be and do. May Your Kingdom advance greatly for Your glory and the salvation of multitudes in our valley for Christ's sake.
