Friday AM Prayer Focus - Ministry of Reconciliation

November 29, 2012 11:04 by DanJ

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.  2 Corinthians 5:16-20

Dear Lord, we desire to be effective in the ministry that you desire us to do.  Your servant Paul described our role as a ministry of reconcilation.  We are reconciling those in the world to You.  Those who feel hurt, lost, abandoned.  Those who feel angry and confused.  Our ministry is to introduce them to You.  Help us in this work.  Help us to be effective.  Help us to be loving, kind, considerate, thoughtful, caring, patient and let us carry Your Holy Spirit with us to those who desperately need Him.

Thursday AM Prayer Focus - Living in God's Favor

November 28, 2012 9:41 by Roger

Romans 5:2,  through the Lord Jesus Christ, "we have obtained our introduction (access) by faith into this grace in which we stand..."

We are prone to consider grace as an entrance into eternal life - i.e., we are saved by grace,  AND as our exit visa from this world, singing, "and grace will lead us home".    But what about every day in between?   Can we learn to "stand" in this grace?   What does it mean to live in God's favor?    Holy Spirit, please teach us.

Wednesday 6:30 AM Prayer Focus: De-stressing

November 28, 2012 7:55 by Peter

Martha and Mary

Luke 10:38 Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.”41 But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; 42 but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

Father, thank You for Your great love for us, that You draw us into relationship with You, that You help us to desire to sit at Your feet more than scurry about working for you. Thank You for the Houses of Prayer that you are raising up all over the world to prepare the Bride for Your return. Help us to sit at Your feet every day, waiting on what You would say to us and growing deeper in our walk with You.

Monday AM Prayer Focus: Joy

November 25, 2012 7:25 by Diane

Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith - the salvation of your souls. I Peter 1:8-9.

Dear God, Your word talks about inexpressible joy. We talk of laughter, happiness, and even satisfaction. However You have so much more for us when we are in relationship with You. Lord, fill us with this inexpressible joy. We are so thankful for Jesus and the salvation of our souls. Amen.

Friday AM Prayer Focus - Giving Thanks

November 23, 2012 12:23 by DanJ

And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years and had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers. At that very moment she came up and began giving thanks to God, and continued to speak of Him to all those who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem. Luke 2:36-38

We praise and thank you Lord for Your willingness to come to this earth.  As Anna gave thanks, so do we.  Praise You Lord for You are worthy of our praise.   Before we begin to thank You for any of the families, homes and prosperity we have, we want to thank You for your love for us.  Thank you dear Lord!

Monday AM Prayer Focus: We Are Thankful

November 18, 2012 4:42 by Diane

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 107:1.

Father God, You are so good and merciful. We know that we do not deserve the mercy and grace that You pour into our lives but we are so thankful. As we receive from You, let us share with others. Lord, we can never outgive You. However, out of thankful hearts let our service be a natural flow to those around us. We give You thanks and praise. Amen.

Friday AM Prayer Focus - Amazed and Fearful

November 15, 2012 10:03 by DanJ

They were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed, and those who followed were fearful. Mark 10:32

Help us dear Lord not to become complacent and smug in our Christianity.  Help us to be vibrant but respectful, excited but fearful, exuberant yet wise.  Lord, so often I have grown comfortable with You and not kept that amazement in my heart.  The miracles you've done in our lives are wondrous and I should always remember Your love for me.  Thank you for loving us Lord and bringing us to a place of remembrance.

Thursday AM Prayer Focus - Give Thanks

November 14, 2012 9:28 by Roger

In all circumstances, I give thanks for the God who faithfully cares for us.

For opportunities to demonstrate God's love for our community, I am gratefull.

For safety, health, low crime, peaceful transfer of power in government, a car that gets me where I need to go, I give thanks to God.

For a good wife and children that love me, I thank God.

Forgiveness, reconciliations, hope that do not dissappoint, humor, instruction, and especially for friends who are kindred spirits ... these are blessings to me for which I give thanks to God.

That God trusts us -  wow!   Now that is something to give thanks for.

I am thankfull for my church family,  for my neighbors,  for a roof that doesn't leak,  and for good food,  for beauty in unexpected places.

I appreciate quiet -  I feel so close to You God when I am quiet.

Thank You for Your Presence God.   I love You.

Monday AM Prayer Focus: God is Our Salvation

November 11, 2012 9:04 by Diane

He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:6-8.

Dear Lord, Everything we could hope for or think of is in You. Without You, we are hopelessly lost. With You we are more than conquerors. You are our Savior and the Lord of our lives.  We give You praise and glory now and forever. Amen.

Friday AM Prayer Topic: Fervent Prayer

November 8, 2012 10:25 by DanJ

When he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out before the people. So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being made fervently by the church to God. Acts 12:4-5

Father God, help us to do as the disciples did. Give us hearts on fire to pray, to worship and to praise You! Help we Your people to be fervent in our request. Help us to be persistent, to continue in prayer. Seeking Your will by asking. Thank You for blessing us Lord.
