Monday AM Prayer Focus: Jesus Our Defense and Sacrifice

December 9, 2012 6:03 PM by Diane

But if anyone does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. 1John 2:1-2.

Dear Jesus, Thank you for being our defense and the sacrifice for our sins. We give you our thanks, praise, and worship now and forever. You are not only the sacrifice for each of our sins, but also for the sins of the whole world. We can never thank you enough. All we can do is stand in amazement and adoration. We love You, Lord. Amen.

Friday AM Prayer Focus - Light Shine

December 7, 2012 12:19 AM by DanJ

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matt. 5:14-16

Thank You Jesus for this teaching.  We are light, we are not to be hidden, we are not to be covered, but we are to be like a city on a hill.  We pray for our community of saints, those who know You, that they would display the wonder and truth of who they are to their family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, passer-byes, clerks, attendents and most importantly, to themselves.  Let the light shine in us Lord that we can even experience the wonder of Your truth and then tell the world.

Thursday AM Prayer Focus - The worldly Christmas

December 5, 2012 10:07 PM by Roger

What credibility would we have in the world, if all that we can do is criticize what they have made of Christmas?

Does a natural man have a knowledge of the significance of the incarnation?

How can he come to know and understand the true wonder of Advent, unless someone tells him?

How about us starting to pray about those in the world - that they should meet God this year?

How about us being the ones who introduce them to Jesus?

Tuesday AM Prayer Focus - Pray for Those Around Us

December 4, 2012 6:51 AM by BJ

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,  in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.  Collosians 1:9-14

Dear Lord, we continue to pray for the people of our town, local area and state.  We desire to see all living come to the knowledge of Christ.  Give us favor in this area Lord.  Help us all to be a good example and those who display Your spirit living within us.  Help our works and the works of those around us to be good and right.  Give us deep understanding of how to pray to inspire our community and country to pray.

Monday AM Prayer Focus: Hope

December 2, 2012 7:07 PM by Diane

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13.

Dear God, Hope is the expectation of things not yet seen. We rejoice that our hope is in You and Your promises to us in the Bible.  We stand firm in our hope of your salvation, your guidance in our lives, and our future with You in eternity. Amen.
