Monday AM Prayer Focus: Living Hope

April 28, 2013 11:02 PM by Diane

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. I Peter 1:3.

Dear God, Your mercy is all around us each day. You pour out Your mercy in abundance throughout all aspects of our lives. Because of Your mercy we have a living hope. It is not small, or insignificant. It fills us with life. Just as You brought Jesus back to life, You give us new life as well. Amen.

Saturday: God's Love

April 26, 2013 11:57 PM by Diane

that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height - to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the the fullness of God. Ephesians 3: 17-19.

Dear God, this verse is so rich and full of promise. How can we know, experience, or begin to comprehend the love of Christ. This love goes beyond our minds and enters our hearts and spirits. Fill us Lord with this love. Help us to soak it in and make it the basis of all our thoughts, decisions, and actions. Amen.

April 26, 2013 12:06 AM by DanJ

Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!

 Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
 Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;[a]
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
 For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations  -- Psalm 100

God, Your mercy endures forever.  Help us to understand that.  Help us Your church be thankful about it.  Please dear God teach us Your people to trust You want the very best for us in our lives.  Let us praise You with our whole life, with all our heart and all our strength.  Thank You dear Lord for Your great blessings over us.

Is anyone out there?   If we are to come to God, we must first believe that He exists, and that He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.   Heb.11:6

Monday AM Prayer Focus: Consolation, Hope and Comfort

April 21, 2013 11:18 PM by Diane

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. II Thessalonians 2:16-17.

Lord, You know us and what we need before we can even ask. Thank you that You bring us consolation, hope, and comfort in all the situations that can bring us to dispair. Through your grace we are set on a sure foundation. You will lead us and guide all that we say and do. We lift our praise and adoration to You because without You we are nothing. Amen.

Thursday AM Prayer Focus - The working poor

April 17, 2013 9:53 PM by Roger

Some in our community work multiple minimum wage jobs and cannot meet the needs of their family.

Some in our community need financial assistance, but do not qualify for help.  They make too much to get help, but not enough to support their family.

Some in our community have become overwhelmed with medical expenses,  or auto repair expenses.

Some in our community are heavily loaded with student loans that must have payments made, but they have not been able to find a job in the field of their education.

Some in our community need the entire income of one spouse to meet the expenses of childcare.

Some in our community cannot afford medical/dental insurance.

Some in our community must choose whether to buy prescribed medicines, or food because they cannot afford both.

God hears their crying and feels compassion.   Let pray for answers and solutions.

Friday: Persevere

April 11, 2013 11:02 PM by Diane

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. James 1:12.

Dear Lord, how easy it is to be happy and cheerful when the weather is great and everything is going well. However when things seem to fall apart and get hard it can be difficult to hold tight to our trust in You. Can You really hear my prayers? Can You really make good come out of this? Do You really understand how bad this is or how much it hurts? The resounding answer from You is Yes, Yes, Yes. Help me in every situation keep my faith strong and my hope in You alone. Amen.

Thursday AM Prayer Focus - Everybody ought to know

April 10, 2013 10:26 PM by Roger

Before creation the Triune God decided (in committee) that beings created in their own image should be included into their fellowship.   So it was determined that One of them would become one of us to make the connection.    But first, these beings needed to be created.   But even before that, these beings needed an environment in which to live.   You know the rest of the story.   Here's the point.   Before the foundation of the world, God chose us (the human race) and predestined us to adoption as sons of God through Jesus Christ unto Himself.   Yes, I know there was that sin problem.  That did not stop the plan.  That did not change God's heart, nor His desire for us to share the intimate relationship that He enjoyed.  Every man, woman, and child is included.  But it won't do them any good if they don't know.  Somebody ought to tell them.    God is waiting on us becasue He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Monday AM Prayer Focus: Wait Eagerly

April 7, 2013 9:40 PM by Diane

so, Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:28.

Dear Jesus, We do eagerly await Your return. Lord, whether we see You return in the clouds or whether You raise us from the dead, we look forward to being with You for all eternity. Thank you that we are safe with You no matter what happens around us. Let us hold tight to the hope You give us. Thank you for the gift of life, salvation, and Lordship in our lives. Amen.

Saturday: Contentment

April 6, 2013 12:34 AM by Diane

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. II Corinthians 4:16-17.

Dear Lord, Help us to have a heavenly perspective knowing that we will live with You forever. This earthly life is temporary and fleeting. Lord we are content with our life knowing that what is coming will be glorious. Thank you that our hope and future rests unfallingly with You. Amen.
