Monday AM Prayer Focus: God's Love

June 30, 2013 11:49 PM by Diane

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. I John 4: 7-9.

Dear God, You say it so simply. You are love and if we do not love, we do not know You. We want to know You. Help us to love You and others better. We often fall way short of this goal. It is so easy to get grumpy and angry at people and the world around us. Forgive us when we are judgemental and selfish. Fill our hearts with Your love and let it flow out in all our circumstances, thoughts, and actions. Amen.

Saturday: A New Creation

June 29, 2013 12:34 AM by Diane

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. II Corinthians 5:17.

Dear Jesus, Thank you for the newness You give to us. Let us never take You and Your mercy and grace for granted. Give us eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to understand what it means to live in our new birth. Guide us and teach us daily just like a parent diligently leads a child in the way they should go. Lord, we want to be like You. Amen.

Friday AM Prayer Focus - A Deeper Walk

June 27, 2013 11:43 PM by DanJ

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

We come before you Lord knowing Your good will for us.  Knowing that the desire of Your heart is that we should trust You and be drawn to You more each day.  Knowing that You are doing a good work in us.  Thank you for loving us Lord.  Thank you for shaping and molding and building us into Your image and into Your likeness as we learn to love more each and every day.

Thursday AM Prayer Focus - More effective prayer

June 26, 2013 10:54 PM by Roger

James says that "the effective prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much."   Let's pray for our brothers and sisters in every church to grow in grace and knowledge of God's will and ways, in order that we may pray more effectively.   "This is the confidence which we have before Him, that if we ask for anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, in whatever ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him."   1 John 5:14-15.

Father, we want every church in our city to be filled with the joy of answered prayers.

Monday AM Prayer Focus: The Good Confession

June 23, 2013 11:16 PM by Diane

But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I Timothy 6:11-12.

Dear God, Help us to fight the good fight every day, keeping our thoughts focused on You, ordering our life according to Your attibutes, and always being ready to share our faith with others. We know our eternity is always now. Thank you Lord. Amen.

Saturday: True God

June 21, 2013 10:57 PM by Diane

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.  I John 5:20.

Dear God, what an amazing verse. We know that Jesus came and You give us the ability to understand and know Him. Not only that, but we are brought into Him! You let us know Jesus is the true God 3 times in one verse. Let Your truth take deep root in our hearts so we can share Your good news with others. Help us to realize this is for now and eternity. Amen.

June 21, 2013 12:19 AM by DanJ

    Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Praise Your Name Holy Father.  We trust in You each and every day of our lives. Help us to trust You in the hard times as well as the easy.  Help us to lean on You in those times and not on our own understanding. Help us to acknowledge You at all times. Lord we desire to awaken the fire of the Holy Spirit in Albany. Help us to live out of trust in You and the things that You bring into our lives. Help us to trust in the Great Couselor and Comforter. We praise You Lord.

Thursday AM Prayer Focus - For New Businesses

June 19, 2013 9:47 PM by Roger

Everywhere we look, we see empty storefronts, empty office space, empty warehouses.  This is not just hard times for those who own vacant commercial property.  This is an indicator of a depressed economy in our city.  It is not God's will.  Pray with confidence for strong growing businesses to come to Albany, for new businesses to start up in wisdom,  and for existing businesses to find creative avenues for profitability.

Pray against the increase of cost of goods sold, of transportation costs, of the cost for equipment loans,  of payroll taxes and overhead.   Pray for a decrease in waste,  in lost manhours from sickness and injury, excess inventory.

Pray for healty labor relations with management,  for customer satisfaction,  for the creation of new jobs.  Pray for city, county and state governments to make it easy to do business in Albany and to welcome new businesses.

Monday AM Prayer Focus: God's Word and Peace

June 16, 2013 5:07 PM by Diane

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:15-16.

Dear God, How we need your inner peace as we live in a world of chaos. Let Your Word fill us with wisdom. Today we lift thankful voices of prayer and praise to You. Guide our thoughts and actions  so they reflect Your grace with those around us. Amen.

Saturday: Christ Died for Us

June 15, 2013 12:05 AM by Diane

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8

Dear Jesus, You have such amazing love for us. You died for us when we were lost in our sins without hope of reconciliation. You did what we could never hope to do. Your sacrifice paid the penalty for our sins. Now we can live a life of restoration with God. We praise, worship, and adore You now and forever. Give us wisdom and guidance to share this good news with those around us. Amen.
