Thursday AM Prayer Focus - For parents to see the evil of Halloween

There is nothing so sad as a beautiful young child dressed up like a witch, a devil, a vampire, a zombie.   Natural men may say "it's cute".  But it grieves God's heart.

 

Evil does not have a "right" to do whatever it wishes on the eve of All Saints Day.   Evil cannot have its way with our children.

 

!. Pray that parents would have their understanding opened to see what's wrong with Halloween.

 

2.  Pray that parents would not constantly exposed their children to TV shows that present the "walking dead", "vampires",  "witches" and others that promote the evil side of our imaginations.

Dear Jesus, Your words challenge us. We know that we are limited. We know that You are unlimited. But when it comes to our own concerns, issues, and needs we can doubt that our prayers will be answered or that You could care about minuscule us when the universe is so big. Your word tells us that You do care, You do listen, and You do answer. Our paths may not always be smooth and we may have to change our directions but You will never forsake us. You give us Your strength, mercy, grace and peace. We cannot fail. Glory be to God. Amen.

Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25.

Dear Jesus, We may find ourselves hopelessly lost spiritually or physically on this planet and You know exactly where we are. We may be confused, frightened, or in dispair and You are aware and know what we need. Thank you that nothing suprises You nor spins out Your awareness. When we turn to You and seek Your help, You are there with understanding, forgiveness, peace and comfort. You live forever and never slumber or sleep.  Best of all You love us. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

Cause me to hear Your loving kindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You. Psalm 143:8.

Dear God, Let our morning thoughts turn to You. Let us lift up thankful hearts for the gift of a new day. We choose to reflect on Your love to us. Thank you that Your mercies are new every morning. Help us be closely attuned to the leading of Your Spirit so we do not miss any opportunities to share Your love with those around us. Give us wisdom to deal with situations that may confront us. At the end of the day, grant us Your comfort and peace. Lord, we keep our trust in You. Amen.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.     Eph. 3:14-19

 

Dear Jesus, Your word tells us here that love surpasses knowledge.  Help us to be open to Your love so that we can live in Your fullness.  Give Your Church here in the Willamette Valley - Power.  Help us, show us, teach us how to be established in Your love.

Thursday AM Prayer - Prayer expecting an answer

Have you ever been to a prayer meeting where everyone was surprised by an answer to their prayers?      I have.    I think that we should be surprised is there is no answer.   I believe that we should:

 

1. Pray in accordance with God's will.  We should know God's will and then ask Him to do the very thing He wants to do . . . in Jesus name.

2. Pray with confidence that what we have asked for will indeed be given.  In fact, to actually know that what we have asked for, we already have in Jesus name.

 

When needy people ask us for help and we have no resource of our own to meet the need, let's pray knowing that God cares for them far more than we do,  believing that He is bigger than their need,  and expecting Him to answer our prayer in a timely manner with the perfect provision.

 

The prayer of faith is not believing that God can help,  it is believing that God can help and knowing that He, in fact, will help.  Bless You God for Your faithfulness, for Your goodness, and for Your Spirit's help in praying effectively.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever Amen. Jude 24-25.

Dear Jesus, What a picture of Your amazing holiness, glory, and majesty this scripture presents. We know You as our Savior and the Good Shepherd. We know You in humbliness when You washed the feet of the disciples. Scripture also reveals You in all Your splender for now and eternity. Thank you for who You are in our lives. You are our all in all. We give You thanks, praise, glory, and honor. Amen.

Monday AM Prayer Focus: Sacrifice

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present  your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 11:12.

Dear Lord, Teach us how to live our lives sacrificially unto You. Our world and our culture do not put You first. Our routines and schedules leave little room for thoughtful reverence and obedience. Help us to know Your word and to be attentive to Your still small voice. When we hear, let us quickly obey. Our desire is to truely put You first in our lives. Forgive us when we are tired, rushed, or distracted. We love you and want to serve You! Amen.

Saturday: Eternity

We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed, we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken, struck down, but not destroyed - always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 2 Corinthians 4:8-10

Dear Jesus, how hard it is to understand that You can actually be manifested in our body. So often we feel so negative about ourselves and the limited way we try to follow You. We become overwhelmed with life and forget to lean on Your strength and love for us and others. When we stop looking at our circumstances and instead look at You, we become overcomers. Thank you Lord that in You we can face hard times but be more than victorious. Amen.
