Saturday Prayer: Jesus is the Way

January 31, 2014 10:49 PM by Diane

Jesus said to him,  "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14: 6.

Dear Jesus, Thank you for Your truths that ring out to us down through the ages. Fads come and go but Your word stands firm and reaches into eternity. Thank you for setting our feet upon a firm foundation. Help us to embrace and trust You and the miracle of Your salvation. Give us wisdom and opportunity to share Your good news with others. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Praying for One Another

January 31, 2014 6:40 AM by Dan

We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers; constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father knowing, brethren beloved by God, His choice of you.  1 Thessalonians 1:1-4

Lord we love Your presence. We know You are with us and hear our requests. Thank you. Today we draw our hearts and minds to those who are near to us. Those we have witnessed to, shared our lives with and cared for. We ask Your abundant blessings on them dear Lord. You have taught us to love them and continue to teach us Your incredible love. Help us to continue to share our lives with them and be a blessing. Thank you for those You have brought into our lives.

Monday AM Prayer Focus: Enemies

January 26, 2014 11:16 PM by Diane

"But I say to you, love your ememies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44.

Dear Jesus, These are hard words for us to follow. Sometimes it takes all our strength to be kind to family and friends.  It seems that loving, doing nice things, and praying for enemies would take more time and energy than we have  in a day. And yet, You lived Your life reaching out to those who hated You. You lived a life of a servant. You reached out to us when we were still sinners. Help us to look at life through Your words and actions. Forgive us when we withhold forgiveness from those who hurt and betray us. Lord, we want to follow You no matter what. Expand our hearts so that we can pray for and do good to all the people in our lives. Amen.

Lead us by Your Holy Spirit into an understanding of what You would have us do with our time and talents. Our lives, hopes, and dreams are Yours. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Handkerchief

January 23, 2014 10:33 PM by Dan

God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.  Acts 19:11-12

Dear God help us to do your work. We pray today for healing of those sick in their body, mind and spirit. We pray in the name of Jesus that evil spirits would leave those in our community who are troubled.  That those evil spirits be cast to the depths of the sea, never to return. Lord use us to provide healing, through our prayers, through our sharing, caring and presence in places with people that need help. May even the things that we touch be able to bring healing to those in need. In Your Mighty Name we pray. Amen.

Saturday: Good News

January 18, 2014 12:15 AM by Diane

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. Isaiah 61:1.

Dear Jesus, Thank you for the good tidings of salvation, hope, love, and mercy that You bring to us. Thank you for the healing and freedom You give to those of us who believe. Help us to share Your good news with those around us. You asked us to follow in Your footsteps. Give us opportunities and the words to say that will help others to know and accept You into their lives. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Keep on Going

January 16, 2014 8:40 PM by Dan

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.  James 1:12

We pray for those under difficult circumstances in our city and valley and state. Many who know you as Savior are suffering from disease, lost loved ones, depression, discouragement. We pray that You dear Lord will come and comfort and counsel them today. Speak to your church to encourage and strengthen. Give pastors messages that will instruct the church through these hard times. Give church members the desire to visit those who are suffering and to bring hope and light. Help us to be Your hands and feet here on the earth.  Give us compassion.
