Saturday Prayer: Rejoicing

February 28, 2014 11:28 PM by Diane

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim You, who walk in the light of Your presence, O Lord. They rejoice in Your name all day long; they exult in Your righteousness. Psalm 89:15-16

Dear Lord, This is a verse to aspire to. Help us learn to praise You more. Teach us to be and stay in Your light. Fill us with your joy from morning till night. Increase our gratitude for who and how You are, especially Your righteousness. Forgive us when we take our eyes off You and our focus goes back to problems and difficulties. Lord, we need to trust You more and worry less. Thank you for Your faithfulness. We lift our hearts in praise, love, and adoration. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Boast in the Lord

February 27, 2014 10:05 PM by Dan

...but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God. But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

                                                                                      1 Cor. 1:27-31

Dear Lord, You have made the simple and weak things of the world to shame the strong. Let us learn to live under Your covering, under Your wing. As simple as that statement may sound, it is great truth. We can not live with out. We are vulnerable and weak and hopeless with out you. Help us to see our situation here on this earth and to take deep comfort in knowing You. Thank You for Your provision of understanding into our lives.

Tuesday Prayer: A New Song

February 24, 2014 11:54 PM by Diane

I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth - Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:1-3.

Lord, Thank you that You save us from ourselves and the terrible situations we find ourselves in. You put a firm foundation under us and keep us from falling. You make us new and we sing our praises to You. Let our new lives be a living witness to Your salvation, love, and mercy. Let our testimony draw others to You. Amen.

Monday Prayer: Joy

February 23, 2014 10:01 PM by Diane

You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence. Acts2:28.

Dear God, Thank you for this verse. First is the reminder of what You have already done. Through Your word and guidance You've lead us through our days.  Next is the wonderful anticipation of being filled with joy in Your presence. What a glorious future! Thank you for being so involved with our lives. You know our needs, concerns, and questions before we even ask. We lift grateful hearts to You. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: Enemies

February 21, 2014 10:59 PM by Diane

Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Luke 6:27-28.

Dear Jesus, Love, do good, bless, pray for those who hate, curse, and mistreat us? Lord, that is such a hard thing to ask. We want to get even, we want to be angry and harbor bitterness. Our fallen nature wants to lash our but You ask us to respond with kindness. Lord, You experienced betrayal, hatred, persecution and death on a cross. You know our fallen world. You responded with unmerited forgiveness and love. Help us in our weakness to follow your example. Lord, we want to be like You. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Faith on the Earth

February 20, 2014 9:00 PM by Dan

Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, saying, “In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man. There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, ‘Give me legal protection from my opponent.’ For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.’” And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge *said; now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”

                                                                                                    Luke 18:1-8

We want to be faithful dear Lord. We will continue to gather in prayer with our community, our churches, our friends and family. We love you and want to show you that with our faith and belief. Open doors to allow us to teach and strengthen those around us who are misunderstanding prayer and losing its value. Help us to be their example. Keep us strong as we gather in Your name.

Tuesday Prayer: Everyone

February 17, 2014 11:08 PM by Diane

"And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:40.

Dear Lord, What a wonderful verse. "Everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life." Thank you for this promise. No one who sees You and believes in You is too far away from Your mercy and grace to receive full salvation and everlasting life. Help us to share this good news with those in our families, in our neighborhoods, at work or school who do not know You as Savior and Lord. Amen.

Monday Prayer: The Potter

February 16, 2014 9:07 PM by Diane

But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. Isaiah 64:8.

Dear Lord, Thank you that You are the Potter. Help us not to resist Your touch as we are molded into the unique design You have in mind. You are a creative God and the ultimate Master Craftsman. We know we have nothing to fear in Your hands. Help us to be soft and pliable rather than hard and lumpy. We look forward to seeing what You will do in and through and lives. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: Worship

February 14, 2014 10:05 PM by Diane

But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. John 4:23.

Dear God, What an amazing picture that You would seek people to worship You in spirit and truth. We should be running to You, flooding You with worship and adoration. You should not have to seek worship. It should be surrounding You day and night all across this globe. Let us never take this wonderful privilege for granted. When we come to You with our petitions, let us always start with worship, praise, and thanksgiving. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Everlasting Lovingkindness

February 13, 2014 9:39 PM by Dan

The Lord appeared to him from afar, saying,
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.  Jeremiah 31:3

How can we not live in love when You, God have given us lovingkindness through Jesus Christ? Help us to see what we need to do to change our ways to love with an agape love. A love of 'God with us', of 'God for us', of 'God in us'.
