Saturday Prayer: Be Ready

April 26, 2014 12:24 AM by Diane

Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning. Luke 12:35

Dear Jesus, How this verse challenges us. You assume that we are servants ready to do your bidding, and indeed we are. However this thought so goes against the grain of our culture. We are taught to be free thinkers, do it our way, be independent. However, in Your kingdom, we are to follow You. Not only that, we are to live always in preparation for You to come even at the most unexpected time like the middle of the night. Help us to mold our hearts, thoughts, and plans around You and Your example. You came as a servant for us, how can we do less? Lord, when You come back, we want to be ready to run and welcome You. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Not In the Grave

April 24, 2014 10:24 PM by Dan

The angel said to the women, Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.  Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”  Matt. 28:5-7

Lord you are alive and available to us each and every hour of every day. Thank you for your love for us. Your care and concern for us. You know about every hair on our head. Every decision we are faced with. Every failure. Every success. You have risen to prove to us Your love. Your love is more than we could imagine.

Tuesday Prayer: Fear

April 21, 2014 11:10 PM by Diane

The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1.

Dear Lord, Thank You for these promises. When we have You with us, we need not worry or fear because You are light in the darkness and You are strength beyond what we can imagine. We put our trust in You and not ourselves. Help us to remember that You are always with us. Keep maturing us through Your Word. Let us stand firm in our faith and relationship to You through the dry, difficult places in our lives. We do not need to fear when we are with You. Amen.

Monday Prayer: God With You

April 20, 2014 11:18 PM by Diane

And the Lord, "He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed." Deuteronomy 31:8.

Dear God, Thank you for these wonderful promises. You go before us. When we go through difficult situations, You are already there and know our needs. Thank you! You are with us. You stay with us through thick and thin and do not leave us on our own. Again, thank you! Therefore we joyfully agree with the Psalmist; We will not live in fear or be discouraged when things do not go just as we thought they would. Lord, forgive us if we take our eyes off You and look at the circumstances. You are our hope and salvation. Guide and direct us day by day. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: We Believe

April 19, 2014 12:12 AM by Diane

Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." John 20:29.

Dear Jesus, As we think over your life during the week before Easter, it is hard to find words to describe Your triumphs, betrayal, sufferings, and death on a cross. And then, as we contemplate Easter, we are filled with amasement, gratitude, and awe. You paid the price for our sin and overcame death. You made the way to reunite us with the Father. No, we have not actually seen You as the disciples did. However,  all these centuries later, we joyfully proclaim, we believe. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Keep Us From Temptation

April 17, 2014 10:01 PM by Dan

Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” Luke 22:39-40

Lord, you instructed the disciples to pray so that they would not be tempted. You instruct us the same way today. Thank you that we can easily defeat the devil with prayer and thanksgiving. When we look to You, the things of this world, its pressures and fears are taken away. You give us confidence dear Lord. Thank You for Your confidence growing within us and the knowledge of prayer that defeats the enemy and temptation.

Tuesday Prayer: God With Us

April 14, 2014 11:08 PM by Diane

Yet, I am always with You; You hold me by my right hand. You guide me with Your counsel, and afterward You will take me into glory. Psalm 73:23-24

Lord, We thank You that You are a God who is close beside us. You are always with us and You hold us by the hand. You guide us and when it is time, You take us into eternity. What more can we ask for in this life and the next? You are intimate and close beside us each day. We are so thankful for Your goodness, love, mercy, and care. Amen.

Monday Prayer: Be Magnified

April 14, 2014 12:22 AM by Diane

Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let such as love Your salvation say continually, "The Lord be magnified!" Psalm 40:16.

Dear Lord, We do seek You and we do love Your salvation. We can never give you enough praise and adoration because You are beyond all that we can imagine or understand. Words fail us. We do know that we want to be with You forever. Be magnified in all creation. You are our God. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: Blessed

April 11, 2014 9:44 PM by Diane

"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:11-12.

Dear God, This is so hard for us to understand and live out in our lives. Persecution, reviling, evil words hurt us. It is hard when people turn against us and hate us for following You. First of all we know their persecution is really directed towards you. Secondly, most of us try to stay away from this kind of situation. Lord, let our love for You overshadow their words and actions. Help us remember that we stand in good company with You and Your prophets. Help us to joyfully remain faithful to You no matter what. Amen.

Tuesday Prayer: Sacrifice

April 7, 2014 11:27 PM by Diane

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1.

Dear God, There is a difference between living a life of sacrifice and being a sacrifice. Help us to love You so much that You become our all in all. Help us to lay down our will and accept Yours. Be our pearl of great price and the ultimate joy of our life. We want to be available to You at all times. We look to Jesus as our example. Amen.
