Saturday Prayer: Thoughts and Words

Mai 30, 2014 9:24 by Diane

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14.

Dear Lord, Thank you for the guidance and direction we receive from Your Word. Teach us how to discipline our thoughts and our mouths. Our minds can become cess pools of all manner of things that pull our focus away from You and onto the world around us. Help us to take our thoughts captive so that we can keep our meditations on You. Teach us to keep a check on our words so that when we do speak, we communicate Your salvation and mercy. You are indeed our strength and our Redeemer. No one else knows our innermost thoughts. Thank you that Your Spirit can bring healing and cleansing where no one else can go. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Christlike

Mai 29, 2014 9:48 by Dan

For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying,

“I will proclaim Your name to My brethren,
In the midst of the congregation I will sing Your praise.”

And again,

“I will put My trust in Him.”

And again,

Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.

                                                                     Hebrews 2:11-14 (NASB)

Dear Jesus, as believers we are all of the same family. You proclaimed the Father's name to the people of earth when You were here... so should we. You sang praises to the name of the Father... so should we.  You were pleased to count us as Your children... we should be pleased to be counted.

Help us dear Lord to be revived in You. Let Your love for us burn deeply in our hearts, even as we pray this prayer. Let it renew us, restore us and strengthen us as wholly Yours. Let us see our mission in life is much like Yours, to love God with our whole heart, mind and soul... and to love those who you've brought into our lives. Help us to be faithful in that.

Monday Prayer: God's Love

Mai 26, 2014 9:29 by Diane

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ. Philippians 1:9-10.

Dear God, Thank you for these words from Paul. We do open ourselves to Your love. Your love is wonderful, strong,  full of knowledge and discernment.  You are rich in grace and mercy. Help us to have Your kind of love flow through us. We can be so quick to be unkind in thought, word, or action. Change us Lord, as only You can. We want to be more like you. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: Consuming Fire

Mai 23, 2014 11:43 by Diane

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and Godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:28-29.

Dear God, This verse says that, "You are a consuming fire." Fire is both a scarey and a wonderful thing. Fire can warm us and consume us. Lord, we want to give ourselves to Your fire. Purify us by consuming those things that hold us back from serving You. We never want to take You for granted. Help us to live lives of reverence, gratitude, and thanksgiving. Thank you that Your kingdom can never be shaken. Amen.

Monday Prayer: Treasures

Mai 18, 2014 9:41 by Diane

"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21.

Dear Lord, The world chases after fame and fortune. We chase after You. Help us to keep our hearts focused on You. We want to live in the moment of each day seeking to bring You glory. Our will is to do Your will. Our joy is to know You more deeply. We are thankful for the mercy and grace that You shower on us each day. We lift up our praise and adoration to You. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Belief in the Truth

Mai 16, 2014 6:38 by Dan

2 Thessalonians 2:13

But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

Lord we not only state our belief in You but we live our belief in You. We are renewed by Your Spirit each day and we share our faith in You each day. We love You and desire that many know You and believe in You also.  Help us to let true belief do it's work.
