Monday Prayer: Pray

June 29, 2014 8:11 PM by Diane

Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, for to You I will pray. Psalm 5:1-2.

Dear God, Thank you that You are not a far off and distant God. We do not have to get your attention because You are busy running the universe. We do not have to wait in a long line for You to hear us. You are available 24/7. You know our needs better than we do. When we pray You are right there listening no matter how long we need to talk. You hear and You answer. Sometimes we may chaff at the answer. You may have something else for us than what we wanted. Sometimes the the answer may even be no or not now. However, we can tust that Your way is the best way since You never stop loving and caring for us. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: Authority

June 27, 2014 8:18 PM by Diane

All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Matthew 28:18.

Dear Jesus, No one else in heaven or on earth can make this amazing statement. On earth we seek after those who have power, money or influence.  We seek after their autographs and pictures. We follow their styles and repeat their quotes and mannerisms. We buy what they buy and like what they like. However, no one else in heaven or earth can make the statement You made. You have all authority in heaven and on earth. That's it; one simple statement and yet the ramifications are eternal.  Jesus, you are the one we should seek, learn about, and emulate. You are our Lord and Savior. You are King of Kings and Lord of Lords. And yet, You know us by name. We love and worship You. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Comfort My People

June 26, 2014 10:43 PM by Dan

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Today we pray You would teach Your church compassion and how to comfort one another with words of peace, strength and encouragement. Help us to see what you have done for us through knowing the Bible and Your work through history. Help us to see what You have done for us personally. Help us to share that same kindness with others. Let us not grow weary of doing good and sharing goodness with others.

Monday Prayer: From the Greatest to the Least

June 22, 2014 9:39 PM by Diane

And the King will answer and say to them, "Assuredly, I say to you inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me."

Dear God, Most of us live simple lives. We do not know or influence celebrities or heads of state. In our love for You, we sometimes dream of doing great and mighty works in Your name. We want to be bold and change the world and then, we remember this simple verse from Your word. When we reach out to the the least, we reach out to You! Thank you Lord, that You care about us all. We are called to serve You faithfully each day of our lives. Some of us may be involved with the mighty and some of us with the simple. You care about all of us no matter what our status or position may be. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: Light

June 20, 2014 11:13 PM by Diane

I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46.

Dear Jesus, How we love light. Plants turn to the light as they grow. We love the long daylight hours of summer days. Thank you that You come as light giving us truth, salvation, grace, and mercy. Your light truely guides us all the days of our lives. In You there is no darkness at all. We are grateful for the undeserved blessings You pour out. Help us never to stray away from Your light. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Even in the Hard Times

June 19, 2014 11:34 PM by Dan

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4

Our prayer today Lord is that we would not fail tests that are thrown at us. We pray for the church today that all those who call on You would understand that there is testing involved in the walk with You. Thank you for the tests, to teach us, to grow us and to change us into being more like You. Let our endurance have a perfect result. Help us to become more like You, more like little Christs in this world of today.

Monday Prayer: Temptation

June 16, 2014 12:05 AM by Diane

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. I Corinthians 10:13.

Dear God, You know when we are struggling with situations that could cause us to compromise our faith, trust, and obedience to You. Help us to look for that way of escape and run to it. Help us to discern those events that may seem harmless but really are a trap. Help us to stay sensative to the leading of Your Holy Spirit that helps us stay on track. Lord, if we do sin, and come to You with a repentant heart, forgive us. Help us to gain the victory in our life over temptations that could pull us away from You. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: Complete

June 13, 2014 10:49 PM by Diane

Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21.

Dear God, How this prayer resonates with us today. We desire to be made complete so we too can fulfill Your will. We too want to be well pleasing in Your sight. We are eternally grateful to Jesus, our great Shepherd, who saved us from our sin and brought us into the everlasting covenant. We join with those of old to sing out glory and praise. Grant us Your peace. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Visible from Invisible

June 12, 2014 10:41 PM by Dan

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. Heb. 11:1-3

Lord, I cannot comprehend how You created the heavens and earth, but You describe the concept of how faith is required to have some understanding of it. All creation by Your Word. What we see today, made from things that were not visible. We have this assurance that You have given us in seeing creation, help us to have an even deeper understanding and assurance of faith of things in our future. Of things hoped for. Today we pray for the faith of the church. For future hope and strength and power in understanding our position as believers. Give us more faith Lord. Strengthen us.

Monday Prayer: Believe

June 8, 2014 9:34 PM by Diane

And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. Acts 16:30-32.

Dear Jesus, The jailer asked the most important question a human being can ask; "What must I do to be saved?" Fortunately, he asked it in front of Paul and Silas who had the correct answer. An answer so simple that many people miss it or cannot accept it. They told him, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ". Lord, we do believe this life saving statement. We love You and want to follow You all the days of our lives. Help us to proclaim this good news to others so they too can have the joy of salvation. Amen.
