Monday Prayer: Pray

July 27, 2014 9:47 PM by Diane

Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to You I will pray. Psalm 5:1-2.

Dear God, Indeed, to You we will pray. We know that You understand our needs and situations better than we do. We know that You respond to our petitions from Your all knowing wisdom and love. Thank you that we can come to You 24/7. You neither slumber or sleep. You always have time for each of us individually. We thank You and praise You because You are worthy of our adoration now and forever. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: Our Example

July 26, 2014 12:15 AM by Diane

For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. John 13:15-17.

Dear Jesus, Thank you for the example You are for us. You did not just tell us what to do. You lived the life and walked the walk faithfully each day. You washed feet. Now You want us to follow Your example. It is not always easy. Lord, we humble ourselves before You. Let Your way be our way. Open our hearts and minds to be more like You. Amen.

Monday Prayer: Seek and Tell

July 20, 2014 9:20 PM by Diane

Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore. Psalm 105:1-4.

Dear Lord, how we join with the psalmist of old. We give You thanks, we sing praise and hymns to You. We seek You now and evermore. We cannot keep silent to those around us. We want to share Your good news with family and friends. You are our favorite topic of conversation. You give us joy and strength now and forever. Amen.

Saturday: Hunger

July 18, 2014 11:31 PM by Diane

Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be filled. Luke 6:21.

Dear Lord, No one likes to be hungry. However, the above verse is not referring to physical hunger. The verse is saying we are blessed if we are hungry to know about, and serve You. Not only do You say we are blessed if we are hungry for You but that we shall be filled! What a wonderful promise. Help us to realize that nothing of this world can really satisfy us. If we eat physical food, we will just get hungry again. However, if we are searching for You, not only will we find You, not only will we be filled, but we will be satisfied. Thank you Lord. Amen.

Friday Prayer: A Good Example

July 17, 2014 11:08 PM by Dan

Now there was a man at Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian cohort, a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, and gave many alms to the Jewish people and prayed to God continually.  Acts 10:1-2

Thank you Lord for your many examples of how to live our lives as Christians. Cornelius had visions and dreams that changed the course of history. You demonstrate in Your Word that we can have those dreams too. We need devotion to prayer and doing the work You have shown us. Give us clean hands and clean heart. Ears that are open to hearing the truth of the gospel. Eyes that are open to seeing the work to do that is before us.

Friday Prayer: Prayer of David

July 10, 2014 11:39 PM by Dan

Psalm 138

 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
    before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
 I will bow down toward your holy temple
    and will praise your name
    for your unfailing love and your faithfulness,
for you have so exalted your solemn decree
    that it surpasses your fame.
 When I called, you answered me;
    you greatly emboldened me.

 May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord,
    when they hear what you have decreed.
 May they sing of the ways of the Lord,
    for the glory of the Lord is great.

 Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly;
    though lofty, he sees them from afar.
 Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
    you preserve my life.
You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes;
    with your right hand you save me.
 The Lord will vindicate me;
    your love, Lord, endures forever—
    do not abandon the works of your hands.

Friday Prayer: Lifting Up Prayer

July 3, 2014 11:46 PM by Dan

Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.                                                                                                                                                                                         1 Timothy 2:8

Our prayer today dear Lord is that people throughout this state and nation would agree to pray... that they would take time out to be with You everyday. That they would realize that they must approach You on Your terms, recognizing that You provide forgiveness of sins to allow approach to the Father. Thank You Lord. We will never be good enough to merit that access. We can only approach You Lord God through Your Son Jesus Christ.  Help us to be in agreement. To ask for forgiveness and receive grace.  We pray for inspiration for the church to pray.
