Monday Prayer: Peace

November 30, 2014 7:44 PM by Diane

You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.       Isaiah 26:3.

Dear Lord, In a world without peace, You are our only source of peace. However we must keep our minds on You and trust You. Help us to keep You as our center and focus. Help us to live with child like trust, putting our hands in Yours and not letting go. Grant us Your peace. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: Thanks

November 28, 2014 9:14 PM by Diane

Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord. I Chronicles 16:8-10.

Dear God, Thank you for these verses from David's song of Thanksgiving. Thank you that his words still resonate with us today. We do give You thanks for You are our God and Savior. We call upon You with our whole being as we lift up praise, worship, and prayers to You. Help us to open our mouths and talk about Your mercy and grace with people around us.  Guide and direct our conversations and actions as we serve You with our whole lives. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Confidence to Enter In

November 27, 2014 11:03 PM by Dan

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.  Heb. 10:19-25

It is good to be close to You dear Lord. To feel Your presence. To know Your power.  You are within us and around us, and we are so thankful for Your presence. We are confident of Your love for us. Thank You for showing us the way to live in this life. The goodness You teach us. Purify our hearts. Help us to hear Your voice of instruction in our lives. Give us circumstance that will teach us of Your love for us each and every day. We praise You and thank You this day dear Lord.

The Lord has heard my supplication: The Lord will receive my prayer. Psalm 6:9.

Saturday Prayer: Watch

November 22, 2014 12:11 AM by Diane

"Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming-in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster or in the morning-lest coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. and what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!" Mark 13:35-37.

Dear Jesus, Thank you for this reminder! You are coming back and we want to be ready to greet You when You come. No one knows the year, month, day, hour or minute of Your return. However we can be absolutely sure that You will come again. Lord, help us to be alert and awake so we are ready to welcome You with praises and adoration. Until then, we will watch. Amen.

Monday Prayer: Suffering

November 16, 2014 6:39 PM by Diane

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.  Philippians 1:29-30.

Dear Jesus, Whoa, wait a minute!  Why are believing and suffering in the same sentence in Paul's epistle to the Philippians? We love to love you Jesus, but the suffering part is not easy and certainly does not feel good. Forgive us Lord if we get too comfortable in our lives and our churches. Christians around the globe are suffering for their faith and even facing death.  Help us stand firm and hold tight to You no matter our circumstances. You are worthy of our praise and worship no matter what is happening around or in us. Lord, strengthen our faith. We are yours no matter what.  Amen.

Saturday Prayer:Love God

November 14, 2014 11:58 PM by Diane

So he answered and said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." Luke 10:27.

Dear God, We are to love you with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind. Help us to keep from holding back. Help us to abandon ourselves to You. We lift up thanksgiving, praise, and worship. Our desire is to be with You all of eternity. What an amazing perspective on life, love, and time this brings. Grant us opportunities to share Your love with our neighbors. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Inherit a Blessing

November 13, 2014 10:44 PM by Dan

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.  1 Peter 3:8-9

Dear Lord Your word and Your life demonstrates how to receive blessing. We are to care for one another,  be compassionate, humble and kind. Today we ask that you would continue to share this truth through the Holy Spirit with the church here in Albany. Teach us to bless and not curse. Care and not be careless. Love and not be angry. Teach us Your ways O Lord.

Monday Prayer: Forgiveness

November 9, 2014 11:33 PM by Diane

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will you Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15

Dear God, Help us always remember these verses during the days when others upset, hurt, or even betray us. Help us to work through the emotions that accompany these kind of wounds. When we harbor anger, resentment, or even thoughts of revenge let us remember Your total forgiveness of us. Give us the strength to forgive in the same way. Thank you Lord, for Your amazing love. Let us be Your love extended. Amen.
