Tuesday Prayer: An Anchor

December 29, 2014 9:42 PM by Diane

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6: 19-20.

Dear Jesus, How we praise You and give You our adoration and worship. You are our Savior and Lord now and forever. You keep our soul steadfast and sure because of our hope in You. Without You, we would be tossed and thrown about in the storms of life. Thank you that You are faithful and true, our anchor and rock. Amen.

Monday Prayer: Fear

December 28, 2014 11:40 PM by Diane

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust: I will not fear, what can flesh do to me? Psalm 56:3-4.

Dear God, It is easy to look at the world around us and be afraid. The news is full of conflicts, shootings, global warming, and political unrest. We can get lost in the turmoil. No matter what, we are to put our focus on You and keep it there. We choose to trust in You and Your word. We have read the end of the story and know that You win. Life can get hard but You will see us through. Thank you Lord. Amen.

Monday Prayer: Sacrifice

December 21, 2014 10:04 PM by Diane

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bond servant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even death on the cross.  Philippians 2:5-8.

Dear Jesus, Christmas is a time when we celebrate Your birth. However we forget that You were in glory before Your birth. Help us to realize the sacrifice you made when you left the glory of heaven to be born in a stable. You lived a life of obedience to the Father to the point of death on the cross. Lord, all of our praise and adoration can never thank you enough for your personal sacrifice for our salvation. We lay down our lives for Your purposes. We are Your bond servants now and forever. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: Like a Child

December 19, 2014 11:58 PM by Diane

Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:2-3.

Dear Jesus, Help us to keep our childlike faith and trust in You. Let us look at Your birthday with the eyes of a child filled with awe and great joy. Lord, we want to celebrate Christmas this year with humble hearts focused on You. You are worthy of all praise and adoration. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Earnestly

December 18, 2014 9:44 PM by Dan

Oh God, You are my God. I shall seek You earnestly. My soul thirsts for You. My flesh yearns for You in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1

Dear Lord help us to be truthful, focused, open-eyed in wonder for each day we are given. Let us not lose sight of You or lose interest in pursuing You. We need Your strength and favor. Forgive us our sins. Keep us from straying from the truth. Keep us from temptation. Deliver us from evil. Let our hearts be drawn to You more each and every day, even in a cold world that is dry of the things of the Spirit.

Monday Prayer: God is with You

December 14, 2014 9:03 PM by Diane

Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!" Luke 1:26-28.

Dear God, Thank you that You are with us. As believers, You are around us and in us! Indeed, we are also highly favored. Let us never take You for granted or become complacent about this great privilege. You, the creator God of the universe know us by name and love us. You are a personal God who is with us in all our joys and sorrows. We praise and adore You. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: God with Use

December 13, 2014 12:00 AM by Diane

"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."  Matthew 1:23.

Dear Father God, How can we ever thank you enough for Jesus coming to earth to be with us? He did not come as a ruler or King although He is both. He left the glory of heaven to become a newborn infant in a manger at Bethlehem. He came not just to be with us, but to be the Savior of the world. He came to show us the love of God. He came with forgiveness for those who will follow Him. Thank you Lord now and forever. We lift up grateful hearts this Christmas season. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Seeing

December 11, 2014 11:11 PM by Dan

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see,” he replied. Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.  Luke 18:35-43

Lord, like the blind man, we can be blind to many things in our own lives. We can't see them just like the blind man couldn't see things around him. Our only hope is to cry out to You for healing, wisdom and strength. How much we need to be well in areas that we have failed in! Please come and heal your people. Mighty Holy Spirit, have Your way in our lives. Help us to make straight paths in our lives, so we will not stumble in our blindness, but run the race in your pure light.

Monday Prayer: Thirsty

December 7, 2014 11:28 PM by Diane

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6.

Dear Jesus, Thank you for these words. We know our bodies must have food and water to survive.  Sometimes we forget that spiritually we need You to survive. Lord, you tell us that we are to seek Your righteousness. Let us be lifelong seekers after You. The good news is that as we seek, You have promised to fill us. Thank you for Your provision. We lift up grateful hearts. Amen.

Saturday Prayer: Love

December 5, 2014 11:56 PM by Diane

If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him; that he who loves God must love his brother also. I John 4:20-21.

Dear God, Yes, we do love You. You are easy to love. You are our creator, provider, and Savior. You are love. However those around us can be very unlovely. People can be downright mean. Yet Your commandment says we must love our brothers and even our enemies. It is not a recommendation. It is a command. Help us in our weakness. Mature us to be more like You and less like ourselves. We want Your love to be in us and flow out of us to others. Amen.
