Saturday Prayer: Light

February 27, 2015 6:24 PM by Diane

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. I John 1:5.

Dear God, Thank you for this comparison between light and dark, good and evil. Your light is pure and holy. How we long to walk in Your light and let Your light shine in and through us. We know that where You are darkness must flee. Your Word tells us that once we were darkness, but now we are light in the Lord. We lift up thankful hearts for this wonderful transformation.  Amen.

Friday Prayer: Know and Rely on God's love

February 26, 2015 10:12 PM by Dan

If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:15-18

Lord, so often I don't rely on Your love for me.  I think that my life is about my own ability and not Yours through me.  Help us to remember You are always here with us, wanting to be put to work to instruct, direct and assist us with our day. Help us to use Your Word and Your Spirit to guide our day and see it through to success.  Help us to love like You did.  Thank your Lord.

Saturday Prayer: Faithful

February 21, 2015 12:32 AM by Diane

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galations 6:9

Dear Lord, Give us open hearts and hands to help those in need. We cannot help everyone but give us eyes to see those around us who You would have us help. It could be as easy as sharing a meal or running an errand. Sometimes it might take more time and energy like being a mentor or a volunteer to a relief agency. No matter what, give us willing hearts that will not hold back nor desire praise or recognition. We may not see the results of our efforts so help us to remain faithful knowing that in time we will be able to make a difference and serve You well. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Blessings and Thanks

February 19, 2015 10:55 PM by Dan

May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.
May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
May we shout for joy over your victory
and lift up our banners in the name of our God.  Psalm 20:1-5
We remember this morning that You are the source of all blessing, all comfort, all protection Lord God. We celebrate that in reading Psalm 20 and knowing that your blessings are near. That you would give us the desires of our heart and make all our plans succeed. You love us that much. Thank you Lord for Your kindness to us.

Saturday Prayer: Love

February 13, 2015 11:09 PM by Diane

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Romans 12:9

Dear God, You are love. Let us be more like You. Help us to sincerely live out Your love day by day. Forgive us when we get caught up in the things of the world that tell us to love this item or that thing which will make us more popular or appealing. The things of the world fade away but Your love lasts forever. We chose to keep our focus on You clinging to what is good. Help us not to stumble. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Strength of Job

February 13, 2015 12:49 AM by Dan

After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.  Job 42:10

Dear Lord, You asked Job to pray for his friends and he did. What a tremendous demonstration of love. In particular after Job had suffered so much verbal abuse from them. He had to be a humble man to forgive them and to follow through with a kindness of prayer to demonstrate that forgiveness. Lord, teach us to pray for each other. Even those who have offended us. Give us the strength of Job.

Saturday Prayer: Prayer

February 6, 2015 10:48 PM by Diane

Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me. Romans15:30.

Dear Jesus, let us remember to pray for each other. We should pray for those You bring to mind, those in authority, for people in God's service, for family, friends, and for those who have prayer requests. The list can be long. How easily we can say to someone that we will pray for them. But then, as days pass, we forget and stop praying. . Help us to hold fast in our commitment to pray for others. Thank you that we know You hear and answer our prayers. Amen.
