Friday Prayer: Praise Him

April 23, 2015 11:12 PM by Dan

God has ascended amid shouts of joy,
    the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets.
Sing praises to God, sing praises;
    sing praises to our King, sing praises.
For God is the King of all the earth;
    sing to him a psalm of praise.  Psalm 47:5-7

Praising You Lord is worth our time, worth our effort.  Give us a spirit and heart to praise You without compromise.  With abandon.  Help us to break free of misunderstanding worship and praise.  Open our hearts and minds to You more and more.  Show us Your glory.

Friday Prayer: Wisdom

April 16, 2015 9:48 PM by Dan

Wisdom has built her house;    she has set up its seven pillars.
She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table.
She has sent out her servants, and she calls from the highest point of the city,
“Let all who are simple come to my house!” To those who have no sense she says,
“Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed.
Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.”   Proverbs 9:1-6

Today we pray for those who we know who have walked away from You Lord.  Our neighbors, our friends, our family. Those who have lost sight of Your wisdom and replaced it with a temporary fulfilment, a temporary life with no vision of the eternal, no understanding of the creator.  Help them Lord. We also pray for the church to be strengthen in our resolve to live for your to follow You, to live in Your light. To live in wisdom.

Friday Prayer: Allies

April 9, 2015 9:57 PM by Dan

“Master,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.”

 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.” Luke 9:49

Lord, help Your church understand Your way with others who are not like us.  Give us a heart of compassion for them, a willingness to support and encourage them rather than belittling and assaulting them. Let us be kind to those who we do not see eye to eye with. To those who we are uncomfortable with who seem to not be completely walking with you.  Give us Your wisdom in these things for the sake of the church in Albany and Oregon.

Friday Prayer: We are Healed

April 3, 2015 12:27 AM by Dan

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24

Today we remember Your great sacrifice for us Lord. Thank you.
