Friday Prayer: Lost

May 28, 2015 9:43 PM by Dan

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? Luke 15:4

Lord, we frown at the lost, but they are your objective. We don't live to care for the healthy, we live to care for the hurting, the confused, the strays... in an effort to save some. Give us strength to live out a life of caring and sharing with the lost, confused and hurting.  Give us opportunities this week to witness your gospel, one person at a time to many.  Give us many good circumstances to share your truth. Go before us Lord and prepare the way.

Friday Prayer: Provision

May 21, 2015 10:13 PM by Dan

Great are the works of the Lord;
    they are pondered by all who delight in them.
Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
    and his righteousness endures forever.
He has caused his wonders to be remembered;
    the Lord is gracious and compassionate.
He provides food for those who fear him;
    he remembers his covenant forever.  Psalm 111:2-5

Thank you for your provision in our lives O Lord. You have brought us through hardships and difficulty. Provided a way when there was no road. Provided food when the cupboard was bare. Given us peace in trials. Counseled us when we had no understanding. Your provision is great. Help us to be more sensitive to understanding your ways in our life. Our times are in Your hands.

Friday Prayer: Living In Christ

May 14, 2015 10:18 PM by Dan

You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.  John 5:39-40 (NIV)

Lord, too often we study about You rather than spending time with You.  Teach us to pray.  Teach us to abide with You the whole day long.  Help us to not confuse knowing about You with being with You, our friend.  I pray for the church today that we would know You more, that we would realize that You demonstrated Your love for us by giving Your life. You are more than a friend in Your love for us.  Help us to know that.
