Friday Prayer: Interceding for Us

July 30, 2015 10:51 PM by Dan

Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Lord, I thank You for Your praying for us, asking the Father about us. Thank you. I thank You that You draw us to prayer, giving us Your heart. Please come into our midst more often reminding us to pray for others. Help us to be reminded of prayer and to always be praying. Help us win hearts in our neighbors, at our workplace, in the marketplace and at home. Let our concern for others cause a regular time of lifting of prayer and request before you.

Friday Prayer: Armor of God

July 23, 2015 10:17 PM by Dan

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph. 6:10-12

We thank you Lord for your protection. You surround us in our knowledge of You, our trust in You, our decision for You. Living with You and for You is what brings us strength and safety from the enemy. We pray today that the church in Albany would apply the armor of God every day. Let our acknowledgement of Your covering be the start of each day.

Friday Prayer: Jars of Clay

July 16, 2015 10:25 PM by Dan

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 2 Cor. 4:4-7

Lord, you have given treasure to jars of clay... for those who will accept it and receive the gift. We pray for your wisdom and insight to open the hearts and minds and eyes of those in our towns.  May they receive the truth of the gospel and understand it. Let their eyes be open to the truth. Let them see who You are.... our Savior... our only hope. In this world where life is so short, where our days are numbered, let those who have not made the connection to You, Father, Spirit and Son... let them get it.  Let them see.  We pray for the unsaved in Albany and the surrounding area, that they may receive Your witness and receive You.

Friday Prayer: Keep Witnessing

July 9, 2015 10:01 PM by Dan

As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.”  Acts 24:5

Felix was afraid of being confronted by the truth that Paul knew so well and shared so readily.  Today I pray for the Church in Albany that we would continue to be a witness for You dear Lord.  That our light would shine brightly before the world that we live in.  Keep our attitudes and our hearts good. Our conscience clean. Motivate us Lord by allowing us to see the opportunity to share the gospel with those that you have placed around us.  Let us be a testament of love and kindness, integrity and faithfulness.  Righteousness and self-control.
