Friday Prayer: See and Hear

September 17, 2015 10:39 PM by Dan

In a very short time, will not Lebanon be turned into a fertile field
and the fertile field seem like a forest?
In that day the deaf will hear the words of the scroll,
and out of gloom and darkness
the eyes of the blind will see.
Once more the humble will rejoice in the Lord;
the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
The ruthless will vanish,
    the mockers will disappear,
and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down—
those who with a word make someone out to be guilty,
who ensnare the defender in court
and with false testimony deprive the innocent of justice.  Isaiah 29:17-21

Lord, you desire for this whole earth to be made well. For evil to be cast away and for justice to prevail.  We ask today on behalf of Albany and all the surrounding cities to let your rightness come to this place.  We pray for your power and your strength to influence the lives of Christians throughout this valley. For those who are weak to be made strong. For those who don't see so well to see clearly. For those who don't hear so well to hear clearly. Help us in our pursuits and work to be able and whole. We pray for your anointing dear Lord.

Friday Prayer: Unveiled Faces

September 3, 2015 9:57 PM by Dan

Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

                                                                             2 Corinthians 3:12-18

In our city there are many who have veiled their freedom.  There are those who have turned away from the Lord and those who never sought him. You who are reading this post, maybe you've never considered accepting Christianity as your faith. There is hope in the Lord. There is His Spirit who comforts and cleanses and restores. You can receive Him now. Dear Lord, we accept You as our reason for living. Our very breath comes from You and we receive that power and freedom. Forgive us our sins and no longer hold our mistakes and foolish decisions against us.  Give us your hope strength to face this new day. Amen.
