Friday Prayer:

January 28, 2016 10:08 PM by Dan

My son, do not forget my teaching,
    but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
    and bring you peace and prosperity.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
    bind them around your neck,
    write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
    in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight              Proverbs 3:1-6

Lord you ask us to deeply remember you always. That we would even etch our heart with your word. You have our hearts Lord. We pray for more insight into Your ways. Your truth surpasses any human understanding. We can't do this life and see change in this city and state on our own. We need You... please, please help us and show Your power in changing of city, state and nation dear Lord. Teach us all Your ways.

Friday Prayer: Lord of the Sabbath

January 21, 2016 10:26 PM by Dan

At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain and eat them.When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, “Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.”

He answered, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread—which was not lawful for them to do, but only for the priests. Or haven’t you read in the Law that the priests on Sabbath duty in the temple desecrate the Sabbath and yet are innocent? I tell you that something greater than the temple is here. If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent.For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”                                                                                                                                                                                  Matt. 12:1-8

Lord, we know you want real faith from us. Sincere faith. Not ritual. Help we the church of the Mid Willamette Valley see the rituals we have built instead of the real faith we should have. Help us to spend time in prayer with You. Help us to have ears to hear and eyes to see the direction that you would have for us. Let us live out our faith boldly in the face of the religious and the unbeliever. Thank you for your presence in our lives. We cannot really live without You.

Friday Prayer: Sins Forgiven

January 14, 2016 10:27 PM by Dan

Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” Then the man got up and went home. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man. Matt. 9:4-8

Lord, we praise You and thank You for Your great love for us. For Your power to forgive sin and Your desire to let all people know this. While you were here on the earth You shared the truth with all types of people. Thank you for sharing the truth with us. Help us to share the truth with many. Help us to be willing to forgive sin, even the sins of those who hurt us directly. Teach us your ways oh Lord.

Friday Prayer: Serve the Lord

January 7, 2016 10:07 PM by Dan

Therefore, you kings, be wise;
    be warned, you rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear
    and celebrate his rule with trembling.
Kiss his son, or he will be angry
    and your way will lead to your destruction,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
    Blessed are all who take refuge in him.   Psalm 2:10-12

Teach us to be wise and take refuge in You dear Lord. Help us each day to constantly be in prayer, seeking your face, knowing You are present, knowing You want the best for us in our lives. You are to be honored and feared, but also loved for Your great sacrifice for us. Teach us Your ways. Help us to hear Your Word for our lives each day. Bless our town of Albany with deeper knowledge of You. Amen.
