Friday Prayer: Wisdom

April 16, 2015 9:48 PM by Dan

Wisdom has built her house;    she has set up its seven pillars.
She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table.
She has sent out her servants, and she calls from the highest point of the city,
“Let all who are simple come to my house!” To those who have no sense she says,
“Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed.
Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.”   Proverbs 9:1-6

Today we pray for those who we know who have walked away from You Lord.  Our neighbors, our friends, our family. Those who have lost sight of Your wisdom and replaced it with a temporary fulfilment, a temporary life with no vision of the eternal, no understanding of the creator.  Help them Lord. We also pray for the church to be strengthen in our resolve to live for your to follow You, to live in Your light. To live in wisdom.

Friday Prayer: Allies

April 9, 2015 9:57 PM by Dan

“Master,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.”

 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.” Luke 9:49

Lord, help Your church understand Your way with others who are not like us.  Give us a heart of compassion for them, a willingness to support and encourage them rather than belittling and assaulting them. Let us be kind to those who we do not see eye to eye with. To those who we are uncomfortable with who seem to not be completely walking with you.  Give us Your wisdom in these things for the sake of the church in Albany and Oregon.

April 3, 2015 12:27 AM by Dan

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24

Today we remember Your great sacrifice for us Lord. Thank you.

Friday Prayer: Protection

March 26, 2015 10:57 PM by Dan

Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart. May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

Psalm 36:10-11

Lord, we put our trust in You. We pray for protection for our churches, homes and families. May your hand guard and cover our lives and the lives of our loved ones, friends and neighbors. We ask for your protection of our town Albany. Please give insight to those who are in positions of authority to do what is best for the people of this city. To keep it safe and to build a future. Thank you for our home.

Friday Prayer: With Us

March 19, 2015 10:45 PM by Dan

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”  Matt. 18:19-20

Lord, Your promise to us is encouraging. It doesn't take many. It takes agreement of two or more in prayer to You. And You hear and dwell with those in prayer. Thank you for your promise.  Thank you for your presence.

Friday Prayer: Strengthen Us

March 12, 2015 11:18 PM by Dan

In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
    let me never be put to shame;
    deliver me in your righteousness.
Turn your ear to me,
    come quickly to my rescue;
be my rock of refuge,
    a strong fortress to save me.
Since you are my rock and my fortress,
    for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
Keep me free from the trap that is set for me,
    for you are my refuge.
Into your hands I commit my spirit;
    deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.

                                                                        Psalm 31:1-5

Dear Lord we come to you in need for rescue, in need for restoration, strength, grace, direction, vision and hope. How many needs can we share with you dear God. And You hear them all. Strengthen us. Lead us not into temptation. Deliver us from evil.  Make our paths straight. Today we pray for all who are hurting and fearful, that they would find comfort in you.

Friday Prayer: Wisdom From God

March 5, 2015 10:35 PM by Dan

Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 1 Corinthians 26-30

Today we pray for a clearer understanding of God's purposes for our local church. Through our humility and caring for others, in living our lives for Christ, may we individually fulfill His plan for our lives. We pray for wisdom from God, understanding from God, and strength through his righteousness, holiness and redemptive power. Please revive and strengthen Your church in Albany King Jesus.

Saturday Prayer: Light

February 27, 2015 6:24 PM by Diane

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. I John 1:5.

Dear God, Thank you for this comparison between light and dark, good and evil. Your light is pure and holy. How we long to walk in Your light and let Your light shine in and through us. We know that where You are darkness must flee. Your Word tells us that once we were darkness, but now we are light in the Lord. We lift up thankful hearts for this wonderful transformation.  Amen.

Friday Prayer: Know and Rely on God's love

February 26, 2015 10:12 PM by Dan

If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:15-18

Lord, so often I don't rely on Your love for me.  I think that my life is about my own ability and not Yours through me.  Help us to remember You are always here with us, wanting to be put to work to instruct, direct and assist us with our day. Help us to use Your Word and Your Spirit to guide our day and see it through to success.  Help us to love like You did.  Thank your Lord.

Saturday Prayer: Faithful

February 21, 2015 12:32 AM by Diane

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galations 6:9

Dear Lord, Give us open hearts and hands to help those in need. We cannot help everyone but give us eyes to see those around us who You would have us help. It could be as easy as sharing a meal or running an errand. Sometimes it might take more time and energy like being a mentor or a volunteer to a relief agency. No matter what, give us willing hearts that will not hold back nor desire praise or recognition. We may not see the results of our efforts so help us to remain faithful knowing that in time we will be able to make a difference and serve You well. Amen.
