Friday Prayer: Sins Forgiven

January 14, 2016 10:27 PM by Dan

Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” Then the man got up and went home. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man. Matt. 9:4-8

Lord, we praise You and thank You for Your great love for us. For Your power to forgive sin and Your desire to let all people know this. While you were here on the earth You shared the truth with all types of people. Thank you for sharing the truth with us. Help us to share the truth with many. Help us to be willing to forgive sin, even the sins of those who hurt us directly. Teach us your ways oh Lord.

Friday Prayer: Serve the Lord

January 7, 2016 10:07 PM by Dan

Therefore, you kings, be wise;
    be warned, you rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear
    and celebrate his rule with trembling.
Kiss his son, or he will be angry
    and your way will lead to your destruction,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
    Blessed are all who take refuge in him.   Psalm 2:10-12

Teach us to be wise and take refuge in You dear Lord. Help us each day to constantly be in prayer, seeking your face, knowing You are present, knowing You want the best for us in our lives. You are to be honored and feared, but also loved for Your great sacrifice for us. Teach us Your ways. Help us to hear Your Word for our lives each day. Bless our town of Albany with deeper knowledge of You. Amen.

Revel in the goodness!Your wife will bear children as a vine bears grapes, your household lush as a vineyard, The children around your table as fresh and promising as young olive shoots. Stand in awe of God's Yes. Oh, how he blesses the one who fears God Enjoy the good life in Jerusalem every day of your life. And enjoy your grandchildren. Peace to Israel!

Psalm 128

Friday Prayer: Come Dwell with Us

December 17, 2015 10:38 PM by Dan

I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me;
    hear me when I call to you.
May my prayer be set before you like incense;
    may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice. Psalm 141:1-2

Today we pray that our lives would be dedicated to you Lord. Steer us from evil, keep us focused on you. Let us worship each day with great gladness in our hearts as we sing your praise. Let us learn to love you more, appreciate what you've given and appreciate what you've done. Give us a desire to pray like never before, crying out you for you to come as David did. Come to our rescue, our help and simply to dwell with us dear Lord.

Friday Prayer: Looking Ahead

December 10, 2015 10:09 PM by Dan

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.  Phil.3:12-14

Thank you Lord for teaching us to look ahead. To look to our future in You. Help us, every time that we are discouraged and disillusioned to look forward and not get caught in the present circumstance. Even if our circumstance is very severe, we can rely on the promise of heaven in our belief of You. Help us to keep that future vision stayed and sure. Help the church in Albany and the surrounding area to look upon these inspired words and press on towards the prize.

Friday Prayer: The Lord is Waiting

December 3, 2015 9:50 PM by Dan

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:8-9

You Lord are so patient and good to us. You love us with an unending love. Your kindness is for the nations. And so You wait for those who have not heard the word of truth to hear the word of truth. You who have strayed, come near to the Lord again . He is waiting. You who are without hope - come near to the Lord, He is hope. He is waiting. He loves us all.

Friday Prayer: Call on Jesus First

November 26, 2015 10:41 PM by Dan

Are you hurting? Pray. Do you feel great? Sing. Are you sick? Call the church leaders together to pray and anoint you with oil in the name of the Master. Believing-prayer will heal you, and Jesus will put you on your feet. And if you’ve sinned, you’ll be forgiven—healed inside and out.  James 5:13-15

Lord we pray for wisdom to take wise action. Help us understand that you should always be our first resort. Let us look to You when we are hurting or joyful or sick or have sinned. Give us understanding that You are our best friend, our finest resource and our most immediate remedy. Help us to look to you immediately in crisis.  We pray for the saint in the Willamette Valley to call on your first.

Friday Prayer: God Himself is Fire

November 19, 2015 9:37 PM by Dan

Do you see what we’ve got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God. For God is not an indifferent bystander. He’s actively cleaning house, torching all that needs to burn, and he won’t quit until it’s all cleansed. God himself is Fire! Heb.12:28-29 (The Message)

Thank you for what you are doing for us dear Lord. Your love Lord is amazing. Our lives have been given meaning and purpose and understanding through you and your word. We are living within Your presence and your creation. We welcome You into our hearts and into our minds. We desire to live for You and work for You. Give Your church wisdom and understanding of what we are involved in.  Let us be a thankful church.

Friday Prayer: Close the Door and Pray

November 12, 2015 11:29 PM by Dan

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matt. 6:6

Lord we often want to be seen by others in our pursuit of You. But Your lesson in this scripture is to nearly hide when we pray. Help us to be working in prayer in the way that you have taught. Let us rejoice in our private times with You. Let us take joy in the secret place that You meet us in.

Friday Prayer: Encourage

November 6, 2015 5:47 AM by Dan

But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.  He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.  Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.  1 Thessalonians 5:8-11

This morning this concept is on my heart dear Lord. We need to encourage one another, strengthen each other through the kindness and love You have shown us. Please Dear Jesus, give Your church, Your people in Albany and the surrounding areas, the understanding of how to care and pray and inspire and strengthen one another. Help us to learn words of edification. Teach us to be a force for good strength through our prayers to You over others.
