Friday Prayer: Everlasting Lovingkindness

February 13, 2014 9:39 PM by Dan

The Lord appeared to him from afar, saying,
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.  Jeremiah 31:3

How can we not live in love when You, God have given us lovingkindness through Jesus Christ? Help us to see what we need to do to change our ways to love with an agape love. A love of 'God with us', of 'God for us', of 'God in us'.

Friday Prayer: Ministry

February 6, 2014 10:26 PM by Dan

Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.  Hebrews 2:17-18

Dear Lord, it was Your life to give of Yourself and care for us in an extraordinary way. Today we pray for Your church to learn of Your ways. To give of ourselves. To care for others. To love and have kindness throughout our day to all those we come close to.  Help us to be a little bit like You. Giving like we have not done before, of our time, strength, emotion and finances. Bless our efforts Lord.

Friday Prayer: Praying for One Another

January 31, 2014 6:40 AM by Dan

We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers; constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father knowing, brethren beloved by God, His choice of you.  1 Thessalonians 1:1-4

Lord we love Your presence. We know You are with us and hear our requests. Thank you. Today we draw our hearts and minds to those who are near to us. Those we have witnessed to, shared our lives with and cared for. We ask Your abundant blessings on them dear Lord. You have taught us to love them and continue to teach us Your incredible love. Help us to continue to share our lives with them and be a blessing. Thank you for those You have brought into our lives.

Friday Prayer: Handkerchief

January 23, 2014 10:33 PM by Dan

God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.  Acts 19:11-12

Dear God help us to do your work. We pray today for healing of those sick in their body, mind and spirit. We pray in the name of Jesus that evil spirits would leave those in our community who are troubled.  That those evil spirits be cast to the depths of the sea, never to return. Lord use us to provide healing, through our prayers, through our sharing, caring and presence in places with people that need help. May even the things that we touch be able to bring healing to those in need. In Your Mighty Name we pray. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Keep on Going

January 16, 2014 8:40 PM by Dan

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.  James 1:12

We pray for those under difficult circumstances in our city and valley and state. Many who know you as Savior are suffering from disease, lost loved ones, depression, discouragement. We pray that You dear Lord will come and comfort and counsel them today. Speak to your church to encourage and strengthen. Give pastors messages that will instruct the church through these hard times. Give church members the desire to visit those who are suffering and to bring hope and light. Help us to be Your hands and feet here on the earth.  Give us compassion.

Friday Prayer: Lay It All Down

January 9, 2014 9:20 PM by Dan

These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. John 15:11-13

You call us friends instead of servants if we keep Your command. You command us to love. You demonstrated love in giving Your life. You call to us in that sacrifice. I can hear You calling me to love. To care. To help. To pray. You gave completely, fully, all the way to the cross, laying down Your life. We want to be known as Your friends. Can we keep your command? Can we learn to love more today? Teach us Lord we pray. Give us a heart and a will and desire to love the lost, hurting world, our own hurting families, friends and neighbors. Break our hearts for what breaks Yours.

I want to stand in Your counsel to sit at Your table
And speak to You face to face as a friend
I want to stand in Your fire wherever Your eyes fall
May You find me faithful to Your heart

Let me be found...
With a heart after You
May Your eyes find this heart loyal to You

May You be all that's on my mind all of the time
Let my heart be torn in two until Your will is mine

Dearly Beloved of my soul

Friday Prayer: A Fearless Life

January 2, 2014 11:06 PM by Dan

God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day—our standing in the world is identical with Christ’s. There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love.  1 John 4:17-18

We ask You this day dear Lord to teach us more of Your love. Help us to be more earnest, more sure, about our walk as believers. Let our purpose with each sentence we speak, be about who You are. Let us learn Your kindness and love. Release us from fear as we trust Your love for us more and more each day. Let us live a fearless life in fearless trust of You.

Friday Prayer Focus - Evidence of our Faith

December 26, 2013 8:21 PM by Dan

My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.

My dear, dear friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us—perfect love!

                                                 1 John 4:7-12  (The Message)

Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains He shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in His name, all oppression shall cease   (O Holy Night lyric)

Thank you God for loving us and showing Yourself to us in kindness toward us.  Help us to learn to love one another. Help us to bring peace into places where we live, work, shop and live out our lives. Teach us not to hold anyone back with chains of criticism. Teach us to bless and not curse. To encourage, inspire and be gracious as your have been gracious to us.

Friday Prayer - Earnest Prayer

December 19, 2013 9:45 PM by Dan

Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. James 5:17-18

We come before You in earnest today Father, knowing You see all things, our strengths and our faults. We are human and You are God. We bow our hearts before You. We ask You to help resolve our world's crisis areas. We pray about Syria today. It seems like a large prayer like Elijah prayed. We don't understand how a solution would come. But there was not much hope for rain in Elijah's day, so we believe as he did, that you answer prayer, and that you can answer this one... please bring peace to Syria today.

Friday Prayer Focus: Merciful High Priest

December 12, 2013 10:31 PM by Dan

Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. or surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants. For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.  Hebrews 2:14-18

Thank you Jesus for coming here to earth to help us.  You give us mercy through the cross You carried.  The purpose of it all... us.  To allow a forgiveness for our sins, our failures and our faults.  We look to You Lord for help in battling temptation and the difficulties brought about by circumstance in this world.  Help us to be strong in You, for You and through the knowledge and the reality of You in our lives.  Help us to live daily for You and to die to ourselves and our own ways.  Thank you Lord Jesus for Your sacrafice.
