Friday Prayer: Lost

May 28, 2015 9:43 PM by Dan

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? Luke 15:4

Lord, we frown at the lost, but they are your objective. We don't live to care for the healthy, we live to care for the hurting, the confused, the strays... in an effort to save some. Give us strength to live out a life of caring and sharing with the lost, confused and hurting.  Give us opportunities this week to witness your gospel, one person at a time to many.  Give us many good circumstances to share your truth. Go before us Lord and prepare the way.

Friday Prayer: Christlike

May 29, 2014 9:48 PM by Dan

For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying,

“I will proclaim Your name to My brethren,
In the midst of the congregation I will sing Your praise.”

And again,

“I will put My trust in Him.”

And again,

Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.

                                                                     Hebrews 2:11-14 (NASB)

Dear Jesus, as believers we are all of the same family. You proclaimed the Father's name to the people of earth when You were here... so should we. You sang praises to the name of the Father... so should we.  You were pleased to count us as Your children... we should be pleased to be counted.

Help us dear Lord to be revived in You. Let Your love for us burn deeply in our hearts, even as we pray this prayer. Let it renew us, restore us and strengthen us as wholly Yours. Let us see our mission in life is much like Yours, to love God with our whole heart, mind and soul... and to love those who you've brought into our lives. Help us to be faithful in that.

Friday AM Prayer Focus - Voice of Melody

July 25, 2013 10:10 PM by Dan

“Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness,
You who seek the Lord:
Look to the rock from which you were hewn,
And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug.
Look to Abraham your father,
And to Sarah who bore you;
For I called him alone,
And blessed him and increased him.”

For the Lord will comfort Zion,
He will comfort all her waste places;
He will make her wilderness like Eden,
And her desert like the garden of the Lord;
Joy and gladness will be found in it,
Thanksgiving and the voice of melody   Isaiah 51:1-3

Dear Lord we have great joy because of Your Son.  A voice of melody and a voice of praise comes from within us.  Thank you that our lives went from a wilderness to a garden.  You have brought us to a place of great peace because of Your Word fulfilled in Christ.  Give us an acute sense of hearing what the Spirit is saying to us each day as we live in You.   Give us sight beyond the normal things of this world.  Let us see things as You want us to see them.  Bless we Your church in this valley with an understanding of joy beyond what we knew the day before.

And according to the abundance of His lovingkindnesses.  Isaiah 63:7

Sunday AM Prayer Focus: Psalm 138 The Message

June 19, 2011 12:18 AM by BJ

Psalm 138.Thank you! Everything in me says "Thank you!" Angels listen as I sing my thanks. I kneel in worship facing your holy temple and say it again: "Thank you!" Thank you for your love, thank you for your faithfulness; Most holy is your name, most holy is your Word. The moment I called out, you stepped in; you made my life large with strength. When they hear what you have to say, God,all earth's kings will say "Thank you." They'll sing of what you've done: "How great the glory of God!" And here's why: God, high above,sees far below; no matter the distance, he knows everything about us. When I walk into the thick of trouble,keep me alive in the angry turmoil. With one hand strike my foes,With your other hand save me. Finish what you started in me,God. Your love is eternal—don't quit on me now. Abba, Father, We, your bride, love you. You are the Greatest Father ever known, we celebrate you this day and forever will praise you.

Sunday AM Prayer Focus: Serve Me - Follow Me

March 19, 2011 10:47 PM by BJ

"Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But, if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is, destroys that life. But, if you let it go, reckless in your love, you will have it forever, real and eternal. If any of you wants to serve me, then follow me. Then you'll be where I am, ready to serve at a moments notice. The Father will honor and reward anyone who serves me." John 12:24-26 Message.

I thank you Jesus that you demonstrated how to serve. You laid down your life freely for all others to come to the Father. Your example of love was pure and costly, it cost you your everthing. We, your Bride, want to serve You Lord. We want to follow You. Teach us to love like you loved us, the willingness to lay down our life for the brethren. Help us follow Your Spirit leading in this. We want to be pure and sincere in our love to others. We want to serve you. We want to proclaime "come to Jesus" to all who are lost and weary. Help us, your Bride, to be effective in our demonstration of love. Teach us what it looks like to daily lay down our life. Keep us from sin. It cost you everything Jesus, help us to follow you well. Amen.
