Friday 8:30 AM Prayer Focus for Israel - For hearts to turn to God

A wall along the southwestern border of Israel is being built to stop infiltration and smuggling.   45 km of the 240 km border has been finished with 700 meters being built daily.   It was scheduled to be finished by the end of 2013, but 6 construction companies have been added to the building force to finish it by the end of 2012.  The earnestness comes from the belief that this wall will protect Israel from attacks.

An ad in the Jerusalem Post asks the question, "Do people have to believe in God to be Jewish?"  And the answer given is No!  You can embrace and celebrate Israel's history and culture without believing in God.  Opening the webpage from this advertisement takes you to the "Humanistic Judaism" site that tells you how to have a humanistic understanding and celebration of Israel's historic holidays.

After he and the leaders of Israel gave generously for the building of Solomon's temple, King David prayed, "O Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, preserve this FOREVER in the intentions of the heart of Thy people, and direct their heart to Thee."   1 Chron. 29:18
